A spiritual director is a wise and gentle guide who listens and discerns with you the movement of God in your life. Over the course of Christian history, the spiritual director has been described as a physician and healer of the soul, a shepherd, a spiritual mother or father, a soul friend, and a spiritual guide.
The Christian tradition of spiritual direction begins with Jesus as our teacher and example. He is the first link in a golden chain that stretches from antiquity to the present age. Through Christ, the spiritual director has received direct experience of the Holy Spirit in the exercise of the spiritual life.
Calvin Wulf is an ordained minister and a gifted spiritual director. His style is relational, in the manner of Jesus and the apostles, with a focus on knowing the person of Christ and experiencing his dwelling within each believer. Calvin has a passion for guiding spiritual seekers more deeply into the presence and likeness of Christ.

He is also deeply knowledgeable and personally experienced in the ancient traditions od the Christian spiritual disciplines as Jesus and the apostles practiced them. He has extensively studied other classic Christian spiritual practices along with the writings of the Desert Fathers.
Calvin is available for spiritual direction in person for those who live in or near Colorado Springs in Colorado, by phone and by Skype, for those who live farther away. The spiritual direction relationship is not "fee based" but Calvin does request a reasonable professional fee for each one-hour session. After a complimentary no obligation exploratory conversation, there is a $50 fee per session.

What Is a Spiritual Director?
A spiritual director is like a life coach who gently guides you along the path of your unique spiritual journey and helps you experience the revelation of Christ
within. As Dr. Bruce Demarest defines it, "Spiritual direction refers to the ministry of soul care in which a gifted and experienced Christian helps another person to grow in relationship with and obedience to God by following the example of Jesus Christ." The Gospels give us vivid illustrations of Jesus as a spiritual director to his disciples.
A gifted spiritual director is a physician of souls, helping them to find Jesus in the joys and trials of life. Because of "our wounds, we need a spiritual director who is indeed an expert and a physician," writes John of the Ladder, abbot of Mount Sinai who died in the year 603. Spiritual direction facilitates and accelerates the formation of Christ within the Christian disciple.
