Our Faith Statement
and Core Values
We stand in faith with the Apostle Peter who boldly confessed that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. We also stand with the whole church as the Body of Christ in proclaiming our faith, the same faith of the apostles and the earliest traditions of the holy Christian Church. We share the beliefs contained in this statement of faith commonly known as "The Apostles' Creed" as it was confessed by the early Christians:
- We believe in God, the Father almighty,
- creator of heaven and earth.
- We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
- He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
- and born of the virgin Mary.
- He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
- was crucified, died, and was buried.
- He descended into hell.
- On the third day he rose again.
- He ascended into heaven,
- and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
- He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit,
- the holy Christian church,
- the communion of saints,
- the forgiveness of sins,
- the resurrection of the body,
- and the life everlasting. Amen.
