"I wonder how Jesus marks time in eternity?"

Marking Time

"From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another."  John 1:16

Some people mark time in terms of days and years.  Others mark milestones like graduation, marriage, a child's birth, promotions, retirement and so on.  But when they look back in reflection, what can they see?

For so many there is a trail of sorrows and joy, success and failure, mourning and laughter.  And calamity will fall upon some, leaving scars of tragedy.  The rubble of brokenness and bitterness marks those places in time.

But for believers the Word became flesh and dwelt among us to shine a light in the darkness.  In him was life, and that life was the light of men.  Jesus lovingly left his rightful throne in heaven to walk among us in a body of flesh and blood.

Isaiah pictured Jesus as a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.  Yet this same Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, without beginning and without end.  I wonder how Jesus marks time in eternity?

As Christians we have been given the privilege of living life in grace.  Could that be the eternal perspective given to us by a loving and merciful God?  A life lived in his grace is truly marked by one blessing after another.

We have been given abundant life.  This my friends is how we can mark time, by one blessing after another into eternity!
