Be Still"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus 14:14 Have you ever had the feeling that the whole world was against you? This shouldn't really be a surprise to the followers of Christ. He told us that if the world hated him it will hate us too. So if you try to be like him, then the world will have its natural reaction against you. So what should you do when someone is being disagreeable with you? Moses gives advice that is just as solid for you and for me as it was to the Hebrews when they saw Pharaoh and his armies coming after them. You need only be still. Now you must understand that one attribute of being still is to be deaf. You don't have to listen to the words spoken against you. The LORD will take up your cause. Have you not heard, have you not seen, do you not know the LORD is the everlasting God? The one who calls himself "I AM" is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. So when you feel the heat, just be still and watch the hand of the God who is the Lord of the armies of Heaven. Remember that if Jesus can have victory over death, he can surely win our daily battles for us. Be still and walk in the peace of the LORD. Copyright 2007, Calvin R.
